The Hybrid Smart Watch is a true testament to the marriage of form and function. It seamlessly integrates the physical hands of a traditional watch with a central perforated Amoled display, offering automatic time-adjusting and avoidance of reading areas. The built-in battery powers both the physical hands and the screen, ensuring uninterrupted functionality. Even if the screen's power is off, the pre-stored power can run the gearbox for an impressive 100 days.
What sets the Hybrid Smart Watch apart is its ability to cater to the modern lifestyle. As a smartwatch, it goes beyond the traditional timekeeping functions and offers a range of practical features. With the help of floating touch technology, users can effortlessly wake up and interact with the screen by simply touching and swiping on the glass surface.
One of the key highlights of the Hybrid Smart Watch is its internet health management capabilities. By scanning the built-in QR code, users can connect the watch to a smart health app on their mobile phones, allowing them to monitor their health and well-being throughout the day. This seamless integration of technology and health empowers users to lead healthier and more informed lives.
The design and construction of the Hybrid Smart Watch are equally impressive. The watch features a body made of eco-friendly ceramic and skin-friendly 316L stainless steel, ensuring durability and corrosion resistance. The dial boasts an original perforated electronic screen with a special "coating" on the sapphire glass, effectively preventing stains and fingerprints. The strap, made of fine woven nylon Velcro, offers a comfortable and convenient wearing experience, while also accommodating different wrist sizes.
With dimensions of 265mm in length, 44.5mm in width, and 13mm in thickness, and weighing only 68g, the Hybrid Smart Watch strikes the perfect balance between style and comfort.
Developed by designer Lansa Xu and her team, the Hybrid Smart Watch represents a significant milestone in the evolution of timekeeping. The project, which commenced in March 2019 in Guangzhou, was completed in September of the same year. It was then exhibited and launched onto the market at the Global Sources Consumer Electronics event in October.
The Hybrid Smart Watch is not only a result of innovative design but also extensive research. Recognizing the impact of the internet on people's health and the need for an upgrade in the traditional watch industry, Xu and her team reimagined the purpose of a watch. The Hybrid Smart Watch is not just an ornament but an identity and health companion, simplifying time-adjusting, extending battery life, promoting better health, and providing quick access to medical care.
The creation of the Hybrid Smart Watch was not without its challenges. The most significant hurdle was designing a smart electronic screen with physical hands. The team utilized central perforated technology, allowing the gearbox shaft to pierce the screen, enabling the hands to move seamlessly. Additionally, features such as automatic time-adjusting, avoidance of reading areas, and longer battery life were carefully considered and implemented.
The Hybrid Smart Watch has received well-deserved recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Wearable Technologies Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the watch's outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to improving the quality of life.
The Hybrid Smart Watch by Lansa Xu is a testament to the power of innovation and the endless possibilities of merging tradition with technology. It not only redefines the way we perceive timekeeping but also empowers us to lead healthier and more connected lives.
